The Red Cow Co. specialise in breeding and producing rare-breed beef from traditional and unusual horned breeds in Suffolk. High-quality, local meat has undergone a renaissance in recent years since the ‘horse meat scandal’. This has meant an increase of high-quality brands in the sector, so it’s a little harder to stand out.
At Condiment we took on the challenge. I wanted the brand to suggest a roughness and lack the traditional elements that most local producers overuse. I combined hand-drawn typography with a bright colorscheme. The logo was intended for use on giant banners at county fairs as well as on low-quality carbon printers (used by butchers for on demand labels).
